From Hampshire to Pembrokeshire with Love

Dear friends,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the summer.

I am currently in Pembrokeshire, Wales and making the most of the elements abundantly flowing from the blustery heavens to update you with my latest adventure!

Thank you to my dear friends Mani and Ash who have supported me with so much love and abundance for my journey to Lammas Earth Centre. To raise the funds for the journey, Mani and Ash invited their friends and family for an evening of Kirtan at their home in London where we sang mantras and songs to honour the divine feminine. Thank you to all the gorgeous beings for coming and supporting this lovely evening and Mani for your beautiful mantras and Ash for providing the cosmic soundscape which really brought an extra dimension to the songs and mantras.

Cacao and flute naming ceremony

The following day Mani and Ash held a magical cacao ceremony which was delicious in so many ways..a deep and ethereal journey for reflection, connecting with our inner wisdom and with each other, and a wholesome meal to fill our awakened bellies! It really was such a beautiful weekend and I was filled with so much joy and beauty and then Mani offered a flute naming ceremony to honour my journey my these beautiful instruments. Wow! Pure divine abundance on all levels. Feeling so much gratitude in my heart. And it was lovely to be reminded of all the wonderful connections I have made with these flutes over the years and how it truly has been a healing journey.

Summer Solstice Blessings from Pembrokeshire

Dear friends,

Belated solstice blessings! I have been in Pembrokeshire, Wales, to mark this beautiful time of year and I now have a moment of stillness to send summer solstice wishes to you all. I hope you all had a lovely time.

Lammas Earth Centre

It was such a delight to join Hoppi and Tao Wimbush, founders of Lammas Earth Centre in Pembrokeshire, for a solstice jam with their lovely community. I didn't quite make it to sunrise but we played music well into the early hours huddled around the sacred fire. A real joy to be in this beautiful Welsh landscape. Thank you Hoppi and Tao for this creating this beautiful Summer Solstice gathering x o x

I Am Free - New Song - New Moon

Dear friends,

Happy new moon to you all!

In this moment I am sitting under a beautiful pink rose bush enveloped in bird song and the rolling hills of Herefordshire - all my senses awakening to this wonder! I am so grateful to my friends Imogen and James to be here in all this abundance. This beautiful lush landscape and gorgeous soundscape has also given me time and space to reflect on my own creative projects.

So over the last few days I have also been making updates to my website. Thank you to my friend Rachel Elnaugh who recommended I bring all my creative projects together under my name. So now red deer sleeping, eightfivepress and ukeydesign will gradually merge under my name mogfry.co.uk (Rachel also gave me inspiration for a new song while I was in Ireland which I will share in a moment!)

In April and May I was back as an Artist in Residence in Cork, Ireland. So wonderful  to experience these places in spring! And so great to have time in these beautiful spaces to record some new songs and make a video…which I am delighted to share with you today.

The song is called ‘I Am Free’ and is available to download from my Bandcamp page. (Thank you Rachel for your words that inspired this song!)

It is very rare that I feature in my own video and it was a real joy to create so I hope you also enjoy my excitement in the Irish landscape!

Here is a link to the video!

Thank you Frieda and Hans at Dereenacappera, Aargroom West Cork, and Judy and Peter at Road Books, Garravagh, Cork, for being wonderful hosts.

Thank you to my Patreon patrons who continue to support my creative journey.

And finally to the beautiful Evolutionary Butterflies and Light Blossoms of the Sky Dancers.

This space is still in working progress as I continue to add my music, film, art  and design projects and collaborations…thank you for being a part of this journey!

Much love from Mog x o x

Stones to Lough Fada - A Field Guide

Sketching Stones

Sketching the stones on the way to Lough Fada, Dereenacappera, Argroom, Co. Cork.

I have been meaning to upload this work for a while. Other projects took priority but I have finally made time to sort through all the images from this project and bring them together here. Aah what a good feeling to complete a project!

My last two weeks in Ireland October 2020 were spent in Dereenacappera, Ardgroom and Gortgariff on the West coast of Ireland. The government insisted on a county lock down so my travelling was restricted to Co. Cork. In some way maybe it was a blessing as I explored the most magnificent and breathtaking landscape and made lovely connections with Frieda and Hans from Dereenacappera and Anne from Gortgariff.

I spent the first week in Dereenacappera exploring the landscape, sketching and photographing the quartz stones on the commonage land that Frieda had collected from the local beach. The photographs were then brought together with music, sound and voice recordings as films.

Carving woodblocks

Thank you to Anne for space to carve the woodblocks at Creativity Cabin in Gortgarriff, Co. Cork.

Alongside the film project I was also working on an idea for a print project: ‘Stones to lough Fada - A Field Guide’

I spent the second week carving 44 woodblocks at Gortgariff. Thanks so much to Anne for the cosy cabin looking out to the wild Atlantic sea. Creativity Cabin was a perfect retreat to have space to focus on carving the woodblocks. So good to have the contrast of the wild weather and even more beautiful landscape to take a breather from the carving.
